Spokane Deaf Church hosted the memorial service for Charlotte Catron on Tuesday, November 22. There were over 50 people who attended the service. Charlotte’s son, Keith and daughter, Paula, led the service in honor of their mother.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project, brings joy and hope to needy children around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 100 million shoe box gifts have been delivered to children in more than 130 countries.  For several years Spokane Deaf Church has participated in the Operation Christmas Child sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse to bless children in poor countries. Brochures are available at church to participate in the program. The deadline for bringing the boxes to church is Sunday, November 13.

Dominican Republic Mission Update

Dana’s report: We are rejoicing at the news that the foundation for our new Deaf school will be laid soon and the construction starts the first week of January, 2017. There will be several phases to the work but I have been told that the first phase will be finished in June of 2017!! The three buildings will be a school, a multi-use/cafeteria building-and vocational/dormitories building. Teams will be working on the construction through “Meeting God In Missions” and MGM will be doing fund raising for the work. The first monthly women’s breakfast for this fall will be Saturday, October 8.  The women will meet at 9 a.m. at the Old European Restaurant. Wednesday Night Baptisms

Wednesday, July 6, the regular Bible Study group met by the banks of the Spokane River under the Barker Road bridge for a baptism. Pastor Allan Gray baptized Dayna Brinkmanship, Karen Barr and Renee Smith.  Charlotte Jordan led them in a profession of faith and Pastor Allan prayed before they were baptized. Friends and family watched as each person proclaimed their faith in Jesus and was baptized.
